Video Digitizing & Editing

General information

  • There are 2 video edit suites offered in the SMS - 1 iMac computer (in Edit Room 1) and 1 Windows computer (in Edit Room 2)
  • The Windows computer in Edit 2 is also set up to digitize videos, from VHS to DVD and mini-DV tapes
  • Edit suites can be reserved in advance through an online scheduler tool for up to 3 hours at a time
  • The 3rd edit suite (Formerly Edit 3) is being transformed over the summer into a podcasting studio, which will be open by the start of fall semester.
  • All computers in the SMS are set up for only temporary file storage, which means that when shut down or rebooted, all files that were not preset on the machine will be erased. Thus it is very important to store content on a dedicated device.
