Pay Rate: Entry

General Description:

May 4 Visitors Center docent is responsible for greeting guests, giving tours, answering phones, and other duties as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Provide direct one-on-one assistance to visitors to the May 4 Visitors Center.
  2. Accept responsibility for the Centers facility.
  3. Protect the Center from damage or loss.
  4. Answer general questions regarding May 4.
  5. Participate in training.
  6. Answer incoming phone calls
  7. Provide tours or the Visitors Center.
  8. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  1. Trustworthy and reliable
  2. Possess basic familiarity with the history of May 4, 1970.
  3. Willing to read and learn about May 4, 1970.
  4. Demonstrates ability to follow directions and retain information.
  5. Displays a professional attitude, friendliness and service-oriented demeanor at all times.
  6. Possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills, patience and the ability to work well with others.
  7. Is collaborative with fellow student workers.
  8. Available to work some evenings, and Saturdays.
