Under certain circumstances you may request a publication delay (embargo) for your dissertation. These may include:

• Working with a publisher to turn your dissertation into a book
• Publishing a revised version of your thesis as an academic journal article
• Publishing your creative writing commercially
• Patent development.

To request a delay of publication, download this form, fill it out, and get the necessary approval signatures before submitting your dissertation to the OhioLINK ETD Center.

If you need an extension on the publication delay, contact Cindy Kristof at ckristof [at] kent.edu at least a month before your delay expires.
