Library and Media Services for KSU Alumni

Borrowing privileges:  KSU Alumni Association members can borrow up to 20 items at a time from the Libraries' collection, including a maximum of 5 items from other OhioLINK libraries.  To take advantage of this benefit, the member needs to show a valid Alumni Association membership card and a photo identification.  All other community borrowers pay $30/year.

Interlibrary loan services: Alumni with library borrowing privileges can borrow materials (e.g., journal articles, books not available through KSU or OhioLINK)  through the Libraries' Interlibrary Loan service.  There is a charge of $10 for each filled request in addition to any charges assessed by the lending library.

Access to Research Databases: Licensing agreements with publishers limit off-campus access to research databases to current students, faculty, and staff. These databases are available to all onsite visitors to the Libraries.

Use of the Information Commons:  The 1st and 2nd floors of the Main Library provide a variety of access to specialized resources and information technology applications.  The in-person user has access to all OhioLINK resources--research databases, electronic books and journals, as well as to express multimedia workstations equipped with scanners and imaging software.

Attendance at 60-Minute+ Seminars: Alumni are welcome to attend any of the 60-Minute+ Seminars offered by University Libraries.  These highlight new information resources and how to use various information technologies.

Librarian Assistance: Personalized assistance is available in person or by phone (330-672-3150). Alumni with borrowing privileges and who identify themselves may also ask a question by e-mail (library@kent.edu).

Media Services: In addition to these benefits, alumni can take advantage of specialized, fee-based services offered by University Libraries.  These include:  video production services and video, DVD and CD duplication.
