History of Office of the University Architect
Kent State University's Office of the University Architect is responsible for the development and alteration of university facilities according to university, state, and national regulations. The Office of the University Architect handles requests that involve changes to the physical environment, including additions and renovations to existing buildings, site changes such as roads and parking lots, major furniture installations, changes in utilities, and signage.
Scope and Content
The Kent State University Office of the University Architect records collection contains architectural drawings and files from 1913 to 2005. The collection consists of architectural and engineering plans from both original building constructions and renovations. Records include campus buildings from the Kent campus and the Ashtabula, East Liverpool, Geauga, Salem, Stark, and Tuscarawas regional campuses. Illustrations contained in this collection include building plans, renovation plans, campus plans, and landscape plans and include vellum, copy paper, blueprints, and negatives. Files include requests for scanned drawings from 2004-2005.
