History of University Women of Kent State University
University Women of Kent State University was founded in 1964 when the Faculty Women's Club of Kent State University (1913-1964) and the Faculty Wives Club of Kent State University (circa 1933-1964) merged. The organization was open to both women faculty and administrators and faculty and administrators' wives. Organizational activities encompassed a regular calendar of social activities including coffees, suppers, and speakers. Additionally, the organization operated the Newcomers Group, which was open to organizational members during their first two years of residency. The Newcomers Group sponsored programs and services to welcome women new to the Kent State University community.

The University Women of Kent State University records span the years 1964-1988 and include minutes, directories, yearbooks, scrapbooks and activity and program records.
