Abstract: This collection was created by Kent State University professor Glee Wilson and contains material relating to Queen Marie of Romania (1875-1938) and her family, including Queen Marie's travels to America in 1926. It also contains material relating to a play called Mad Forest, A Play from Romania, produced at Case Western Reserve University in 2002.


Biography or History: This material was collected and donated by Professor, Glee Wilson. Wilson taught History at Kent State, and in 1974 became coordinator of Kent State's Romanian Studies Program. In this capacity he worked with donors and collected materials relating to Romanian history and literature in general, and specifically to Queen Marie of Romania and her family.


Scope and Content: Part of the Glee Wilson Queen Maria of Romania collection includes items such as newspaper clippings, a scrapbook and stationery, documenting Queen Marie and the Romanian royal family in the 1920s and 1930s. Other material in the collection, including a script, poster, playbills and newspaper clippings document a a 2002 production of the play, Mad Forest, A Play from Romania, at Case Western Reserve University.


Statement of Arrangement: This collection is divided into two parts, material related to Queen Marie of Romania and her family and material related to a production of Mad Forest, A Play from Romania. Material is organized in folders chronologically.
