History of the Faculty Wives Club of Kent State University
The Faculty Wives Club of Kent State University, often referred to as the Faculty Wives, was founded in 1933 or 1934. Organizational events were planned by club committees with the wife of the current Kent State University president serving as the honorary club president. Activities included teas, annual suppers, spring picnics, memorial tree plantings, educational lectures and classes in crafts. In 1964, the Faculty Wives Club of Kent State University merged with the Faculty Women's Club of Kent State University to form the University Women of Kent State University.
Scope and Content
The Faculty Wives Club of Kent State University records span the years 1945-1964 and consist primarily of organizational directories and scrapbooks. The scrapbooks include photographs and newspaper clippings of organizational activities.
