Scope and Content

This is a small collection of publications created by artist Breanne Trammell while she was at Kent State University as Assistant Professor of Print Media & Photography. The content of these publications, created in spring of 2017, was inspired in part by Trammell's exploration of content within the May 4 Collection, housed in Kent State University Special Collections and Archives. Trammell's work on this suite of inter-related publications was sponsored by the Kent State University Research Council. The works consist of artist's books and broadsides. The broadsides are formatted in a size and style similar to protest signs created for and used in demonstrations of the United States Civil Rights movement of the 1960s and 1970s.
