Historical Note: The Astabula County Council on Aging (ACCA) was established by the County Commissioners as an autonomous, non-profit corporation in October, 1973. In general, however, the organization retained much the same structure as the earler, unincorporated Ashtabula County Senior Citizens' Council, founded in September, 1972. According to President Everest Warren, in an interview on August 28, 1975, the old title was commonly used by members of the organization for several months after incorporation and the assumption of the new title. Although the papers show frequent interaction of the new title. Although the papers show frequent interaction between the ACCA and the Ashtabula County Community Action Agency, the two agencies were administratively separate.

Scope and Content: This small collection includes minutes, correspondence, by-laws, and other records.

Acquisition Information: This collection was donated by Everest Warren, President of the Council at the time.
