Abstract: This collection contains 35mm photographs and negatives that include visuals of Kent State University activities, athletics, holidays, and people.

Scope and Content: This collection is split into 3 series that may have been the original order they were received in. The first series covers activities and sports and is organized alphabetically by subject. The second series is images from holidays. The third series is of people organized alphabetically by last name. 

The name Swartout is referenced a number of times in the descriptions of these prints and negatives. Swartout may have been a photographer or photography studio in Kent in the 1950s and 1960s given that 'Swartout Studio' is referenced in the Daily Kent Stater in the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s.  The title for the collection is derived from this potential connection with the local studio.
