Biography of Marshall W. Wright
Born in 1818, in Conneaut, Ohio, Marshall W. Wright moved to Kingsville in 1857 after serving as sheriff of Ashtabula County in Dorset, Ohio. At the age of 43, Wright joined the 105th Ohio Volunteer Infantry as Quartermaster when the infantry mustered in for service in August of 1862. Lieutenant Wright resigned his position in April of 1864 due to ill health and remained in Kingsville until his death in 1912.
Scope and Content
The Marshall W. Wright papers primarily focus on Wright's capacity as Quartermaster of the 105th Ohio Volunteer Infantry from 1862 to 1864. Detailed reports of the 105th O.V.I. are documented throughout the first four series of this collection. These papers also include ledgerbooks kept by Wright from 1862 to 1867, artifacts and ephemera, publications, and miscellaneous records.
