Biography of Paul Kriese
Dr. Paul Kriese was born August 15, 1943, in Buffalo, New York. He earned his M.A. in Political Science from Kent State University in 1972 and was present during the events surrounding the May 4, 1970 Kent State Shootings. Kriese was active in promoting change while maintaining peace, leading to the establishment of the Committee for Non-Violence. He went on to the become the first chairman of the Training Committee, for the Committee for Non-Violence. Kriese is an Emeritus Professor of Political Science and a chair member of the Department of Arts and Culture at Indiana University. The Committee for Non-Violence is not to be confused with the University Commission to Implement a Commitment to Non-Violence. The Committee for Non-Violence is a distinct group with overlapping charges.

The collection consists of correspondence, publications, and bulletins.

The collection is divided alphabetically into folders by subject.
Separated Material
General clippings about the Kent State Shootings and related topics have been removed from this collection and will be integrated into the May 4 Clippings, Magazines, and Journal Articles collection.
