- Provides strategic leadership and day-to-day oversight of Special Collections & Archives, including collections, donor relations, reference and research services, instruction, and outreach.
- Directs unit planning and operations, including goal setting, grant initiatives, and program development.
- Responsible for unit's operations and programs relating to records, paper, books and other materials reflecting the 1970 Kent State Shootings and their aftermath.
- Acquires, appraises, accessions, processes, preserves and provides effective access to historically significant materials, in all formats, that are directly related to the legacy of the Kent State Shootings.
- Participates in outreach programs related to May 4 collections including management of the Kent State Shootings Oral History Project, digitization of selected materials, curation of exhibits and creation of social media content.
