Print Reserves are physical materials instructors have placed on reserve for classes. They are available at the Circulation Desk. These materials include Kent State University Libraries books, textbooks, government documents, instructor's personal books, DVDs, etc.
Locating Print Reserve Items
To find out if your professor has placed any print materials on reserve for your course, search in KentLINK.
Checking out Print Reserve Materials
To check out print reserve materials, go to the Circulation Desk, and provide the material's title and call number to the Circulation staff. A Kent State University FLASHcard or photo ID is required to check out materials. There is a five-item limit on simultaneous check-outs.
Types of Check Out Periods
Check out periods for print reserves are determined by the instructor teaching the course, and they may vary widely depending on demand or material type. For an extended check-out period, the instructor's approval is required.
Making Copies of Print Reserve Materials
The Library has public photocopiers on the first floor across from the Circulation Desk. There are also copiers on the fifth and sixth floors.
Checking In Reserve Materials and Overdue Fines
Users are subject to overdue fines and lost book charges for materials kept beyond their borrowing period. To avoid fines, return the materials directly to a Circulation staff member, and ask for a receipt. Dropping the materials in Book Drops may result in overdue charges.
