Collection Development Guidelines Purpose Statement

Collection development guidelines provide direction to the management and ongoing development of the Libraries' collections. To insure that those collections support the University's instructional and research needs, the liaison librarian working with a given department developed guidelines in consultation with the department's library representative. The resulting document serves as a means to communicate the intention behind collection development decisions, providing the opportunity for further discussion and updates to the guidelines as needed.
