What is Interlibrary Loan (ILL)?
Libraries all over the world participate in Interlibrary Loan (ILL) in a cooperative effort to provide articles, books, and other materials to researchers, students, and others. Here are some things to keep in mind:
- Some materials may be difficult to obtain, including bestsellers, books recently featured on TV talk shows, genealogical materials, special collections, rare books, expensive materials, or fragile items.
- Loan periods for returnable items obtained through ILL vary widely due to circulation policies. Check the due date printed on the label of your borrowed item or your KentLINK Account.
- Textbook requests are not accepted. Several alternative textbook resources offer low-cost and rental options.
