Using the form below you may request a library instruction session for your students. This program is intended for the English Composition-Tier II courses. Please contact Tammy Voelker (tvoelker@kent.edu) if you have any questions.

Once you have submitted your request , an instruction librarian will contact you within 2 business days to confirm the date/location of the session and to collaborate with you on its development.

 What type of session would you like for your students? Select One.

 Getting Started Seminar: Engages students in hands-on searching exercises using pre-selected sample search topics. Introduces techniques such as Boolean operators and truncation. Provides experience in two key resources, Academic Search Complete (article searching) and KentLINK (book, AV searching). 50-60 min.

Workshop Format: Great for students who are working on an assignment and ready to research their topics and for those who have completed the online skills modules or who have had library instruction in the past. Session begins with a review of library research basics presented with interactive clickers followed by open workshop time for individual searching by the students with the librarian and instructor on-hand to provide assistance.

 Session tailored to an assignment or other special topic: Librarians can develop a session tailored to the unique resource needs of your class assignment, or you may wish to request a special topic such as avoiding plagiarism, web searching/evaluation, Refworks, etc.
