This site provides digital copies of 113 maps of Africa dating from the mid 16th to early 20th century. Included are thumbnail jpeg images with features such as zoom, pan, rotate, fit to window, and print. A descriptive bibliographic record accompanies each image.

This non profit foundation provides a searchable catalog of digitally scanned, high resolution scans of maps of Africa. The site has over 1000 maps and continues to add content. Materials are from historic sources with current and historic names. Metadata is provided with the map record.
This collection of maps covers topics of climate, physical geography, living-resources, land, history, people, services and infrastructure for free download. The information was compiled as part of the University of Cologne's ACACIA Project E1. For some maps, the free desktop mapping application, Arc Reader, must be downloaded.ArcReader
