Canadian Atlas Online
Produced by the Royal Canadian Geographical Society, an interactive atlas of Canada. It is based on the print title produced by the Royal Society. Users can explore several atlas layers for the entire country, and print maps created. Also includes interactive children's atlas and geographic explorer.

Canadian Geographical Names (Natural Resources Canada)
Find out information about a specific place in Canada by typing in a geographical name or typing in the latitude and longitude. Information about a geographic name includes location of the place in terms of province and/or territory, feature type (e.g. city ; bay), location in terms of city or town, and latitude and longitude. Maps that show the location of a place can be obtained as well.
Forest Fire Hotspots
This site uses the FireM3 system to identify fire hotspots as well as monitor daily forest fire activity in Canada.
GeoGratis
This site offers free geospatial data from Natural Resources Canada. Many collections are available including raster, vector and ground point control. Collections are at national as well as regional and local data including topographic, vegetation, soils, etc. Most data are in zip format and must be unzipped. Each comes with a metadata file in txt format.
