Serials - Undergraduate/Graduate Student Employment
Duties and Responsibilities:

Check-in serial issues on the library's integrated library system (Innovative Interfaces)

Online maintenance of library catalog records
-
update check-in records and modify detailed information online
-
Open and sort incoming mail
-
open envelopes, plastic covers and boxes of journals
-
Other duties related to the processing of library serial materials
-
type call number labels for classified serials
-
apply tape for Reference and Fashion Library items
-
stamp periodicals with appropriate property stamps
-
sort and separate serials by location
-
deliver serials to various locations within the library
-
barcode old journal issues shelved on the second floor as part of the ongoing "Serials Barcoding Project"
Qualifications and Special Skills:
-
Computer literacy
-
Familiarity with MS Word
-
Basic office skills
-
Follow detailed instructions, remembering complicated procedures to follow for different kinds of material
-
Be able to work independently
-
Related library experience and knowledge of the Innovative Interfaces system is desired but not required
