First Year Experience Program
Program Overview
The First Year Experience Program of Libraries and Media Services at Kent State University is part of a university wide commitment to connecting with and supporting incoming students. Our mission is to foster student success through collaborations with faculty and staff and direct interaction with students. Our First Year Experience Program also forms the foundation of the Libraries’ comprehensive library instruction program.
This web site provides information on the Libraries’ programs, initiatives, and services related to the first year student experience.
Program Objectives
The main goals of the Libraries’ First Year Experience Program are to:
- Orient students to the KSU Libraries, resources and services
- Promote in students positive attitudes towards the KSU Libraries
- Make students aware of the support and research services available to them
- Make positive contributions to the success and growth of first year students at Kent State University
