How do I find books in KentLINK and OhioLINK?

You can access KentLINK at http://kentlink.kent.edu/ This is a link to another web site. When using KentLINK, you can extend your search to OhioLINK by clicking on the blue button (near the top of the screen) that says OHIOLINK CENTRAL.

When searching an online catalog (sometimes called an OPAC, or Online Public Access Catalog) for books on a certain topic, it is usually a good idea to start with a Keyword search. Once you have found a catalog record for an appropriate item, you can click on a Subject listed to search by Subject.

How do I request books from other libraries?

When using KentLINK, you can extend your search to OhioLINK by clicking on the blue button (near the top of the screen) that says OHIOLINK CENTRAL. To request a book from OhioLINK, click on the REQUEST THIS ITEM Link displayed in the OhioLINK record for the item and provide the requested information. How are books arranged in the Fashion Library?

Our books are arranged according to Library of Congress This is a link to another web site Classification. This means that they are arranged by classification, using call numbers that are alphanumeric (a combination of letters and numbers). Some books are in the Restricted Collections. Others are in the stacks arranged by LC Call Number. Reference materials are in the first row and are arranged by LC Call Number. The oversized items are arranged by LC Call Number in the last aisle of the library.
