This site provides a wide range of general information related to the environment, economy, and tourism of the Great Lakes region. The environment section provides links to external organizations and resources covering such topics as endangered species, coastal preservation, air toxins, soil erosion, and much more. There is also a section on maps and GIS data on the different lakes.

Ocean World is a user-friendly, comprehensive site for students and instructors in Oceanography with educational resources for kindergarten through the graduate level. Created and maintained by Dr. Robert H. Stewart of Texas A&M University, this site provides many links to online resources for 11 categories of topics within Oceanography, Meteorology, and Ocean Engineering. The resources include those using real-time data. Users can download several textbooks written by "Dr. Bob" for free (in Web or PDF format) as well as read his other publications. The site features a "Print Friendly Page" icon for best results. There is also an "Email Dr. Bob" feature for questions not answered on the site.

Produced and maintained by the Pacific Institute, the Water and Climate Bibliography is a database which includes entries for significant peer-reviewed studies in worldwide climate change and freshwater resources. Also included are theses, government reports, and conference findings. Users should consult "Search Tips" and "Keyword List" for the subject terms used by the database which are most applicable to their topic to conduct the most efficient search. Short abstracts are selectively available and there is no full-text access.
