Authority Control and Database Maintenance

Authority Control makes access headings (authors, titles, subjects) in KentLINK consistent so that items can be found by an author or about a subject, or if they share a common title.  Authority control also provides cross references so that users looking for non-standardized headings are redirected to standardized ones.

Database Maintenance is the correction of persistent errors found in KentLINK (for example, barcodes that are entered incorrectly).
