Personal Bookplate of B. George Ulizio (1889-1969)
Ulizio was a distinguished bibliophile who collected books for 50 years. He put together and sold at least three significant collections before Kent State acquired the fourth. In 1969, the late Hyman Kritzer, director of Kent State’s Library, and Dean Keller, curator of Special Collections, were successful in acquiring the last of Mr. Ulizio’s libraries.Comprised of nearly 1,500 volumes, the collection is very strong in major English and American authors of the 19th and 20th centuries and includes a number of “high spots” of literature.
