Performing Arts Library Course Reserves
Information for Faculty
Please submit requests at least two weeks before you expect to assign the items, to allow sufficient time to process them, including time to recall items that are checked out. All reserve requests will be processed in the order they are recieved. It is your responsibility to be aware of copyright issues, and to read the KSU Library Reserves Policy.
Instructors may place books, scores, recordings and videos on reserve through the Performing Arts Library for courses in the Music, Theatre and Dance departments. All materials on reserve in the Performing Arts Library circulate for 2 hours, with the option of allowing overnight check-out on some materials. All personal copies of materials that instructors place on reserve are restricted to library use only.
Compilations of unidentified material cannot be placed on reserve without complete source and bibliographic information so that we can determine if the library owns a copy. Titles that are not in the KSU Performing Arts Library collection will be borrowed from other KSU libraries when possible or purchased after review by the Head of the Performing Arts Library.
Requests and questions should be addressed to Amanda Evans, who is the Performing Arts Library staff member in charge of course reserves.
Online Listening Reserves
Online listening pages are created for courses upon request (click here to see examples). Requests are filled by linking to Naxos Music Library or Classical Music Library databases of streaming audio recordings.
All document based E-Reserves are processed by Main Library Reserve Services.
Please submit all Performing Arts Library Course Reserve requests using either the one of the online or Word Document forms:
- Online Forms - submissions are emailed directly to Amanda Evans
- PDF Document Forms - Download and print form. Fill out the form as completely as possible to avoid any delays in processing. Deliver the form to Amanda Evans at the Performing Arts Library.
Reserve fines apply to all users, including faculty. We are willing to extend reserve loan periods to faculty upon request. Please let us know if you will need an extended loan when you are checking out your reserve materials.
