Reference and Instructional Services

For faculty: if you already had library instruction planned for your course(s) or are thinking about including library instruction, our Subject Librarians are available to provide asynchronous instructional modules to help your students. Please contact your subject librarian or email us (library@kent.edu) to talk about how we can continue to provide library instruction for your course(s).

Course Reserves

In order to help students gain access to materials needed to support successful online instruction, we are working with faculty to provide additional online alternatives for their courses.

  • Due to the high volume of requests, we are prioritizing materials required for an assignment.
  • At this time, we are unable to do further scanning, but do let us know your needs. We are skilled at identifying online alternatives and many publishers are making resources freely available online.
  • Send requests for purchase and all other questions regarding Course Reserves to reserves@kent.edu.
  • Visit the Course Reserves page for more information.

Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery

  • You can continue to request electronic copies of articles and book chapters via Illiad.
  • Requests for print materials cannot be filled at this time.
  • For materials that are currently on loan from other institutions, please do not return them. Whenever possible, we will be extending their due dates until everyone returns to campus and waiving any fees.
  • If you have any questions, please contact lms-ill@kent.edu.
