Computers & Equipment

Performing Arts Library

  • 12 PC Computers (more information on software)
  • 4 Scanners
  • 1 FLASHcard Machine
  • 2 Mobile Device Charging Stations
  • 2 Group Listening/Viewing Rooms (more information on equipment & reservations)

There are 2 computer labs adjacent to the library run by Information Technology:

PC Lab (Room D-002)

  • 8 PC computers (more information on software)
  • 4 Mac computers
  • Color printer (&0.07 for black and white, $0.14 for color)
  • Copier ($0.10 with FLASHcash)

Mac Lab (Room D-024)

  • 25 Mac Computers (more information on software)
  • 15 stations are equipped with keyboard synthesizers

The Mac Lab is occasionally reserved for classroom use (see reservation calendar). When it is not reserved for classroom use, it serves as an open lab.

Printing

Computers in the Performing Arts Library and both computer labs may print to the color or B&W printers in the PC Lab.  Visit the Kent State University Technology Helpdesk website  for information about mobile printing, printing options in computer labs and residence halls and how to print without a FLASHcard.

Library users may pay for printing using a FLASHcard or FlashLine username and password.  Guests without FLASHcards may purchase one at the FLASHcard machine located near the Performing Arts Library service desk.  Library users with cash may also use this FLASHcard machine to load money on their cards.  To load money on a FLASHcard using a credit or debit card visit the FLASHcard Office webpage.

Printing Costs

  • Color - $0.14
  • Black and white - $0.07

Wireless Access

Wireless connectivity is available in the Performing Arts Library and throughout the Center for the Performing Arts.  For more information see Help with Campus Wireless.

Group Listening/Viewing Rooms

The Group Listening/Viewing Rooms check out for 2 hours and may be reserved in advance.  Rooms are available on a first-come, first-serve basis unless reserved, and seat no more than four.
