Statistical and Qualitative Software Electronic Copy Hurdles

1. Some Vendors do not allow for electronic copies.

  • e.g. Lisrel

2. Some Vendors will not provide electronic copies.

  • e.g. SPSS, Nvivo, and SAS (only provides 9.2 and that requires Windows OS later than 2003).

3. We tried to make ISO images of the disks, but downloading them takes too much bandwidth and therefore is too slow (hours rather than minutes) outside of the network.

  • Tried this with the smallest disk (NVivo). It would take take much longer for SAS etc.
