NVivo Tutorials Topics

Sources

-- a term used by NVivo for your research materials. This can include hand-written field notes, interview transcripts in Microsoft Word, PDF files, etc.

Nodes

-- a container for a theme, code, or topic within your data. For example, you can create a node called 'peace' and code all peace-related data at it. When you open a node, you can see all of the 'peace' related data gathered in one place.

Sets

-- provide flexible or temporary groupings of your sources and/or nodes. These shortcuts can be deleted without deleting the original source or node. Also, a set can include any number of sources or noes and a source or node can belong to multiple sets.

Links

-- allow you to connect project items.

Queries

-- a means of asking questions about data and saving the answers.
