Music LibraryAccessing Collections during Music & Speech Construction and Renovation
Beginning in May 2008 the Music Library started a two-year renovation and expansion in conjunction with the Roe Green Project expansion and renovation of the School of Theatre and Dance's facilities in the Music & Speech Center. The result of the library renovations will include an increase in both study space and shelf space in the library, along with the creation of two computing classrooms and two multi-media group study rooms. Listening and viewing facilities will also be completely updated through the generous support of the Kulas Foundation. The renovation and expansion of the library will be completed in Spring 2010. The 18-month construction process, however, has necessitated changes to the ways in chich music collections at Kent State are made accessible. While all music materials remain available for use by all Kent State library patrons, these materials will in most cases need to be requested online. The purpose of this web site is to describe how to find and make use of the music collections at Kent State during the Music Library renovation and expansion. Questions and concerns regarding any Music Library or research issue are welcome at any time. Daniel Boomhower
