Installing SPSS

Windows XP: You must be logged on with administrator privileges. Also, you should disable any anti-virus software during the install. Uninstall any previous versions of SPSS. Insert the CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive. The AutoPlay feature will present a menu. To run the Setup program, choose Install SPSS, and follow the instructions that appear on the screen. Use the serial number and authorization code below when prompted for this information during the installation.

VISTA: You must run the AutoPlay as administrator: Close the Autoplay Window that automatically appears. Using Windows Explorer, browse the CD-ROM. Right-Click setup.exe at the root of the CD and choose: Run as Administrator. On the AutoPlay menu, click Install SPSS and follow the instructions that appear on the screen.

Be sure to select: Site License when prompted for License Type.

Insert SPSS Disk in your CD ROM Drive.

Click on Install SPSS 16.0

Click Site License and then Next.

Read the License Agreement. Click "I accept the terms of the license agreement" (if you do indeed accept the terms). Then click Next.

Read the ReadMe file and click Next.

Enter the Serial Number provided in the liner notes when you purchased SPSS. Click Next.

Click Next.

Click Install.

Wait for next prompt.

Click OK.

Click Next.

Click Next.

Enter the Authorization Code that came in your SPSS 16.0 Liner Notes.

Click Next.

Internet is the recommended method. Click Next. You should receive a confirmation that your authorization was successful. Click Next. You should receive a message that installation is complete. Click Finish.
