Instructional Program of Libraries & Media Services
The library instruction program fosters collaboration between librarians and classroom faculty in order to help Kent State students navigate the complex information environment and develop important research skills that will help them succeed.
Librarians provide library and research-related instruction to support assignments and to enhance overall information literacy competencies. Sample topics covered in instruction sessions include:

Tutorials
In order to address multiple learning styles and to accommodate students who can not easily attend workshops, tutorials have been created to address research and multimedia skills. Faculty wishing to assign tutorials as a course requirement should contact Ken Burhanna or Tammy Voelker.

60+ Minute Seminars
60+ Minute seminars are scheduled throughout the academic year and are presented on a variety of topics. All seminars require pre-registration, but are free of charge. Most 60+ Minute seminars are held in Room 333 of the Main Library. Follow the link to learn more.
Instructional Spaces in the Main Library
The Main Library has a variety of instructional spaces, including electronic classrooms, that are used for library-related instruction. If you are interested in using one of these spaces for a research session for your students, please contact your Liaison Librarian and refer to the Scheduling and Use of Library Classrooms page.
