RSS Feeds and Feed Readers

RSS allows you to choose which pieces of information from the internet you want to keep track of.  Syndication lets you know when information has changed or been updated. These can include web pages, news websites, blogs, podcasts, or journal tables of content. Each website creates its own RSS feed and not every Web site has one.

When you syndicate content, you can read the content from your desktop or from any internet ready computer, without email.

RSS Readers translate XML or RSS code from the web environment into user friendly, aggregated content.

It is simply a free "subscription" to a Web site. The subscription allows you to be notified when the site changes or is updated.
