How to get ERIC Documents at Kent State University
References found in the ERIC database that have "ED" numbers are ERIC documents - typically research reports, conference papers, dissertations, or books. Below are the various methods for obtaining copies of ERIC documents:
-
ERIC documents from 1993 to the present*: full-text available directly from the Find a Copy link in the ERIC research database or from the ERIC Database
.
-
ERIC documents prior to 1993*: located on microfiche in numerical order by the ED number. These documents are shelved in the Main Library Basement and must be request from the Periodical Information Desk (2nd floor). You can request the documents in person, via telephone (330-672-2177) or you can send an e-mail to Periodicals Services
. Please include your name, contact information, and ERIC document number when making the request. The materials will be available the next afternoon.
* A small number of ERIC documents, mainly commercially produced books, are not available on microfiche or in full-text from ERIC. These resources may be available in KentLINK , the OhioLINK Library Catalog, requested through Interlibrary Loan, or purchased from the publisher or a book retailer.
For further assistance call the Main Library reference desk at 330-672-3150; email library@kent.edu; or use the Ask a Librarian 8-campus reference service.
