How to get ERIC Documents at Kent State University

References found in the ERIC database that have "ED" numbers are ERIC documents - typically research reports, conference papers, dissertations, or books. Below are the various methods for obtaining copies of ERIC documents:

  • ERIC documents from 1993 to the present*: full-text available directly from the Find a Copy link in the ERIC research database or from the ERIC Database This is a link to another web site.

  • ERIC documents prior to 1993*: located on microfiche in numerical order by the ED number. These documents are shelved in the Main Library Basement and must be request from the Periodical Information Desk (2nd floor). You can request the documents in person, via telephone (330-672-2177) or you can send an e-mail to Periodicals Services This is a link to another web site. Please include your name, contact information, and ERIC document number when making the request. The materials will be available the next afternoon.

* A small number of ERIC documents, mainly commercially produced books, are not available on microfiche or in full-text from ERIC.
