Legend/Key to Web Site Icons

Following is a list of some of the icons and graphics you might run across while using our web site.

Icon - Off-Site Link Off-Site Link: This icon appears when a link will take you off-site, away from the general Libraries and Media Services web site and its navigation. These off-site links will typically open in a new browser window. Links to web servers other than www.library.kent.edu (ex: reserves.library.kent.ed), but which may still be used for LMS purposes, will also use this icon since they depart from our standard navigation.

Icon - PDF File PDF File: This icon follows each file that is of Adobe Acrobat's Portable Document Type format. PDF files may be viewed with the free PDF Reader from Adobe This is a link to another web site.

Icon - Required Form Field Required Form Field:  When filling out a form on our web site, this asterisk will let you know which fields are required to complete the form.  Fields without the asterisk are intended as optional.

Icon - Page Search Our Site - Page result: When searching our web site, your results could be web pages we've created, or resources to other web sites, databases, books, etc. This icon represents web pages that we've created.

Icon - Resource Search Our Site - Resource result: This icon represents resources such as other web sites, databases, books and other materials that may show up in the results when you use the Search Our Site fields.
