Specialized Search Engines
These are Web sites that look for very specific types of information.
Google Scholar  http://scholar.google.com Searches for scholarly material, including journal articles. Is connecting from off-campus, connect through the proxy server. Then in your search results, you will see "OLINKS" links, which you can use to see if you can get the full text of any journal article.
USA.gov  http://www.usa.gov This is the U.S. government's official portal to federal and state information online. It offers a subject directory as well as a search engine that will search federal, state, or a particular state's Web sites.
