One of the site's primary objectives is to provide African scholars and students with access to scholarly materials originally from Africa.

American National Biography Online
Covers more than 18,000 people from all eras who have influenced and shaped American history and culture. Includes illustrations and links to select web sites. Also includes articles from The Oxford Companion to United States History, which gives context to the lives included in ANB Online. All articles originally included in the ANB Online were on biographical subjects who died before the end of 1995. Articles on important figures who have died since 1995 are being added in quarterly updates, but coverage of people in this category is not yet complete.

Chronicle of Higher Education
The Chronicle is a trade paper providing news, information, and jobs for college and university faculty members and administrators. The Chronicle's Web site features the complete contents of the latest issue; daily news and advice columns; thousands of current job listings; articles published since September 1989; discussion forums; and career-building tools such as online CV management, salary databases, and more.

This site allows you to search and view newspaper pages published between 1880 to 1922 in a small group of states; some newspapers from Ohio are available. The site also includes directory information, including a link to library holdings, about American newspapers published between 1690-present.

E. W. Scripps Papers is a collection of letters and photos from the Scripps Manuscript Collection at Ohio University. Edward Willis Scripps (1854-1926) was a businessman and journalist associated with the founding of the Scripps Howard chain of newspapers and the United Press International independent news gathering company.

For Kent State University, students and faculty now have access to 381 JSTOR journals representing over 2 million articles.

Kent State Shootings Oral Histories is a collection of recordings related to the May 4, 1970 shootings of Vietnam War protestors at Kent State University. The oral histories include many eyewitness accounts of the event and its aftermath, contributed by people who were students, faculty members, and City of Kent residents at the time, as well as an account by an Ohio National Guardsman.

Lake Erie's Yesterdays is a collection of historic photographs of northwestern Ohio, documenting the local history of the Erie Islands and Lake Erie's western basin. These black and white images were produced by Sandusky, Ohio, commerical photographer Ernst Niebergall between 1909 and 1915.

Television News Archive (1968 - Current)
