Consumer Action, a nonprofit education and advocacy organization founded in 1971, has created this site to bring together material on a variety of consumer issues. The site features many topics, including financial education and voter registration, and provides content in a several languages including Armenian, Chinese, Japanese, and Spanish.

Though most of this site is restricted to subscribers only, there is still valuable information here. There is a listing for current recalls and a method for locating manufacturers. Information on the current issue of Consumer Reports and sample articles are available.

If you are comparing job offers in different states, this would be a good place to do some comparisons.

The Consumer Protection Section of the Ohio Attorney General's office enforces numerous Ohio laws that protect consumers and businesses. You can file a consumer complaint online. The site includes several online publications and links to other sources of consumer information.

This organization represents residential utility customers in proceedings before the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio and in court. This state agency was created to deal with matters involving gas, electric, telephone and water utilities. One of the purposes of the OCC is to provide consumers with the most current and accurate information regarding utilities available.
