KSU Library TourCirculation & Reserves Desk
The Circulation & Reserves Desk serves several functions. This is where you go to check out materials you would like to borrow, pick up materials you have requested from other libraries, and check out materials held on reserve.
To check out materials you will need your FLASHcard. Undergraduates are loaned books for 3 weeks at a time with an option for 4 renewals.
Reserves
The Circulation & Reserves desk also handles all reserve materials. "Reserves" is a service that holds materials in reserve for students to borrow and use in the library. Professors might place specific course readings on reserve to provide convenient and equal access to all students in a class. These materials circulate on a limited basis, usually for two hours at a time and use is limited to the Main Library building.
The Reserves Desk is sometimes referred to as "Print Reserves" as opposed to electronic reserves or E-Reserves, another reserve service available on the library's Web site.
Here's a Reserves tip: Your course syllabus should identify any reserve readings you have been assigned. If you are provided with a password, it means your readings are online via E-Reserves. If no password is given, you should visit the Reserves desk to access your readings.
