AccessScience
An online encyclopedia that provides full-text access to articles, research updates, and dictionary terms in all areas of science and technology. Also contains biographies, weekly updates on hot topics and discoveries, a student center with resource guides, and links to related sites. Updated daily. This resource is available for the Kent, Salem, and Tuscarawas campuses only.

Compendex (1969 - Current)
Comprehensive interdisciplinary engineering database, with abstracts from over 5,000 international journals, conference papers and proceedings, and technical reports. Includes links to full-text. Updated weekly.

Index and abstracts to engineering literature published from 1884-1968.

Computers & Applied Sciences Complete
Incorporates Computer Science Index, Computer Source, Information Science & Technology Abstracts, Internet & Personal Computing Abstracts, and includes academic journals, professional publications, and other reference sources. Subject areas include the many engineering disciplines, computer theory, and new technologies.

FAITS - Faulkner Advisory for Information Technology Studies
A good resource for technological information. Includes reports on IT topics such as technology management, IT infrastructure, wireless communications, networking, security, telecommunications, enterprise systems, the Internet, and more. Includes technical reports and standards, market information, news, and tutorials, as well as links to relevant online resources.

Inspec (1969 - Current)
Provides access to the world's scientific and technical literature in physics, electrical engineering, electronics, communications, control engineering, computers and computing, and information technology; also has significant coverage in areas such as materials science, aeronautics, oceanography, nuclear engineering, geophysics, biomedical engineering and biophysics. Searches Physics Abstracts and more.

Inspec Archive (1898 - 1968)
All aspects of physics (originally published as Physics Abstracts), Electrical and electronic engineering (introduced as a separate journal in 1903, and originally published as Electrical and Electronic Abstracts), Computing and control engineering (introduced as a separate journal in 1966, and published initially as Control Abstracts, later renamed to Computer and Control Abstracts). Also known as "Electronic Access to Science Abstracts Journals 1898-1968".

Science Online
Science Online from Facts On File (not the journal Science published by AAAS) presents information on a broad range of scientific disciplines through extensive definitions, essays, diagrams, biographies, and experiments.

Textile Technology Complete (Available at Kent Campus Only) (1950 - Current)
Textile Technology Complete is a scholarly and professional database covering scientific and technological aspects of textile production and processing. Containing over 400 periodical titles, it also draws on current technical reports, books, and trade literature. Also includes resources about apparel, home furnishings, and polymer industries.

Academic Search Complete
Provides full text for more than 4,000 scholarly publications covering academic areas of study including social sciences, humanities, education, computer sciences, engineering, language and linguistics, arts & literature, medical sciences, and ethnic studies. This database is updated daily.

History of Science, Technology, and Medicine (1975 - Current)
Describes journal articles, conference proceedings, books, book reviews, and dissertations in the history of science, technology, medicine and allied historical fields. Updated annually.

Science Citation Index Expanded (1980 - Current)
This "Web of Science" database covers the journal literature of the sciences. It indexes more than 5,700 major journals across 164 scientific disciplines, with all cited references captured. Updated weekly.
Tutorial

A weekly online publication that covers scientific training, career development, and the science job market. Look for articles and features on a range of topics from basic career advice to first-person perspectives from scientists pursuing a variety of careers.

Clase and Periodica (1975 - Current)
An interdisciplinary index of articles, essays, book reviews, conference proceedings, technical reports, and more published in 2600 journals edited in 24 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as from publications that focus on Pan American issues. CLASE indexes documents published in Latin American journals specializing in the social sciences and the humanities. PERIODICA covers journals specializing in science and technology. Languages covered include Spanish, Portuguese, French and English.

Dissertation Abstracts (ProQuest Dissertations & Theses) (1861 - Current)
Includes citations for dissertations dating from the first U.S. dissertation issued in 1861. Contains abstracts for dissertations from 1980 to the present and for master's theses from 1988 forward. The work of authors from over 1,000 North American graduate schools and European universities are also included. Titles published since 1997 are available in PDF digital format and have 24 page previews available.

Electronic Journal Center (OhioLINK)
Full-text coverage of selected journals in the areas of arts, humanities, math, medicine, science, engineering, computer science, and social sciences. This link gives the current status of access to EJC titles. For some, links are provided through publishers' web sites.

Each of the 600 demonstrations is concisely produced and narrated, each stands alone and illustrates a particular principle of physics. The demonstrations are augmented by slow-motion photography and animation. Videos are accompanied by a printer-friendly PDF page which may contain graphics, tables or figures not easily rendered on the web. Videos are available in RealVideo format and may be streamed or dowloaded.

More than 70 agencies in the United States Federal Government produce statistics of interest to the public. The Federal Interagency Council on Statistical Policy maintains this site to provide easy access to the full range of statistics and information produced by these agencies for public use.

JSTOR is an electronic archive of complete journal backruns, current to within 2 to 5 years. The collections include: Arts & Sciences I-VIII, Business Collection I-III, Ecology & Botany, General Science, and Language and Literature. For Kent State University, students and faculty now have access to 381 JSTOR journals representing over 2 million articles.

LexisNexis Academic
Contains the full-text of newspapers for the past 20 years, federal and state case law and legislative materials, law reviews, company news and financial information, medical and health information, general information sources and much more. Updates and coverage vary by section.

PapersFirst (1993 - Current)
Provides access to individual papers presented at conferences worldwide, covering every congress, symposium, exposition, workshop and meeting added to the The British Library Document Supply Centre's collection. Updated monthly.
