Description Robert Pescatore was an undergraduate student at Kent State University in 1970 and he discusses his memories of being on campus on May 4, 1970, the day of the shootings. He describes the unrest he witnessed on campus, including people throwing bottles, bricks, and rocks at the soldiers, as well as the military presence on campus: armed personnel carriers, soldiers, and jeeps. He also talks about seeing the burned ROTC Military Science Building. He describes the demonstration in The Commons that he watched from the window of the Prentice Hall cafeteria; he saw tear gas being thrown and people running. He describes his experience of being hit by tear gas while walking from the Prentice Hall cafeteria to class. He was in his dormitory, Dunbar Hall, when the shootings took place and describes what he witnessed that day.
