Description A senior at Theodore Roosevelt High School (Kent, Ohio) in 1970, David Hansford discusses his memories of the days surrounding the shootings on the Kent State campus. He describes being sent home early from high school on the day of the shootings, the military vehicles and roadblocks he saw on his way home, and the crowd of people he saw leaving the city on foot. He discusses his family's attitudes about the events, the relationship between the university and the city, and how these events affected the city of Kent.
