Description "This maypole dance was a highlight of the first Campus Day, May 16, 1914, which started as 'Extension Day,' when McGilvrey brought to campus students who had taken courses in surrounding communities while campus classrooms were under construction. . . In addition to speeches, the first Campus Day featured glee-club singing and dancing around the maypole, establishing the pattern for Kent's oldest tradition." Photograph appears on page 137 of the 1915 Chestnut Burr. Similar photographs appears on page 31 of A Book of Memories and between page 88 and 89 in The Years of Youth.
